Nick had a Birthday!

Last Friday we celebrated Nick's 24th birthday. Sadly, he had to work but he got home around 2 and we spent the afternoon together. We had his parents and Rob and Amy over for dinner for come carne asada. I didn't successfully make it taste like carne asada, but i think it turned out okay at least. Nick got a memory foam pillow from Georgia so that she has something comfy to sleep on when he leaves for work in the morning. He also got a renewed subscription to ESPN magazine, some new basketball shorts, some shoes, and a new hat. I can't speak for him, but he said he had a good birthday.

The next night, we went out and my mom and charlie watched a grouchy Georgia. We were able to go to a nice little Italian restaurant we have been wanting to try, and went and saw True Grit without the worry of disturbing others with her crying. We love having Georgia around, but it was so nice to get out with just the two of us!

Happy birthday sweetheart. Here's to another great year for you with schools (he found out so far that he has been accepted to florida state and west florida. Must be a sign. Sounds nice right about now.) and new opportunities and an exciting new start somewhere else. I love you baby!

Georgia's Adventures

Georgia has had so many new adventures in the past month. Starting with Christmas.
She loved looking at the lights on the tree this year. Next year I'm sure she'll be into everything on and around the tree. Glad she could only look this year.

She was not impressed by her loot this year as you can tell by the picture. She wished for a pony and an XBox 360. Didn't get either.
She also now believes her parents don't love her because of the gifts she got. Secretly she loves them all though.
(Me and Nick Christmas Day)

Luckily her Grammy got her this kitchen she loves or she just wouldn't have had a good Christmas.

She did love being held the whole entire day though!

(being loved by Grammy)

She also enjoyed spending the evening at her Great Grandma and Grandpa Bench's house with all of her mom's extended family close by.
As soon as her other Grandparents returned from their Mexico trip, she loved spending time with them and having her Grandma read her new books to her.
Georgia has developed a new love for her parent's bed.
She helped mommy cook in the kitchen.
And learned how much fun sticking her tongue out is.

She let me take photos galore of her. (I just love her cute fat face)
In fact, the 3 year old sitting next to us at church was convinced she looked so chubby because she was filling her cheeks up with air. Sorry little boy, they are that way completely airless.

She had a blast staying up til nearly midnight on New Years Eve with the all the Walkers. (I only got one picture of that night)
Also Georgia had a wonderful 4 month checkup at the doctors weighing in at 14 and a half pounds and was 25 inches long. She braved the new sets of shots and was able to start rice cereal. She thinks she can feed herself by shoving my fist with the spoon into her mouth every bite. (I love how chubby her ankles are)
She can now sit all big girl like in a high chair.
She went on a date with her parents bowling and to Chili's. She loved watching her dad bowl.
And while mommy bowled loved doing this.
Georgia also went on her first airplane ride to Kansas to see her Grandpa Wayne retire.
She loved seeing my dad and Jen and adored them both.

She played with dogs for the first time ever.
And loved seeing her aunts and uncles from my side.

She was fascinated by her chubby cousin Hunter and we had so much fun playing with him.
She didn't mind us holding him yet either. I swear I don't think that girl was set down once this whole trip. It was so much fun!

She also met Jen's parents Gene and Janet for the first time and loved seeing them!
She didn't really like Quigley
But she ADORED Lucy.
She was happy to be back home and play dress-up with daddy. It's not the same as playing it with her mama.

The last adventure Georgia had was learning to sit up! This girl amazes me. I can't believe how fast she learns and is growing. I know it's totally normal for kids to do it at this age, but I can't help but adore everything my little Georgia Peach does.

What I Love About Sundays

THE BEST DAYS ARE ALWAYS SUNDAYS!

Why are they wonderful, you ask?

I get to spend my time with this man.

I get to watch this man do funny things to this girl.

I get to spend relaxing time with this fat chunk.

I get to see this fat chunk, who most definitely has her dad's beautiful eyes, smile!

Family Pictures

I wanted to take some family pictures to send out in Christmas cards. We took our own. Well, Nick's mom took them of the family. As you can see...it is quite the process. There are about 20 other pictures missing. Our family on was the hardest to get together since my wonderful husband likes having pictures taken. Merry Christmas!

My Little Talker

This is from a few weeks ago! I love her little voice.

LOVE

I have a wonderful husband. He is kind, caring, and perfect. This year for my birthday he surprised me with tickets to the Utah Symphony's version of Romeo and Juliet. It was absolutely beautiful. I tell you, this man is amazing. He is the perfect dad to Georgia and the perfect husband to me. He works two jobs (one of which is just not fun) to make it so I don't have to, and can enjoy staying home with Georgia. I am so lucky to be sealed to him for all eternity. I love him!
This year, I am most thankful for him in helping me adjust to life as a new mom, and staying by my side the whole time for miss Mae's delivery. (AND stepping up the first day home by having me be in bed with that stupid spinal headache and taking Georgia to her appointments to get her blood drawn and see the doctor and get her fed the whole day.) He really is amazing. I am still in love!
