He's 4 months!

Our little (BIG) Miles is already 4 months and headed right on to 5. I can't believe how fast time flies. He is still the perfect baby a family could ask for. He is so calm and good-mannered. He will still let anyone hold him and only wants mom or dad when he's tired. It's true that he likes Nick better than me. Nick can make him smile quicker and bigger than anyone and he also gets him to fall asleep better than I can. Hence Miles has taken over my side of the bed so he can sleep with Nick instead. He's been able to do a lot in the first 4 months of his life. He has been able to meet almost everyone on both sides of the family. He has been to Big Bear, CA and Oceanside, CA. (more posts to come on both of those trips soon)

He went to his 4 month check up on August 31. He weighed in at 19 pounds 8oz and is 27 1/2 inches long. Including his head, he fell above the 97% for everything. He pretty much looks like he's about 10 months old in size.

This boy will soon learn to stick up for himself. He gets talked into doing quite a bit of what Georgia wants and is perfectly happy to play along. Georgia wishes he did sleep with her.

This is where he has taken over my bed. He sleeps like such a boy. He has his own bed but he can't stretch out in it so as soon as you lay him flat on our bed, he's out cold and relaxed.

I love everything about Miles and I'm so glad he is part of our family. Even at his young age, he adds so much to it. He is so calm he helps me keep my cool and at most times, I feel it's easier to have two kids than one with the way he evens everyone out!

Our sweet Miles was blessed on Saturday, May 26, 2012

We were so lucky to have so much family attend. Nick's brother, Todd, and his wife Emma took a long trip from Oklahoma to bless their baby down here as well. Doing it on a Saturday was different, but really nice. We were able to keep it small and just include our families. We had a nice luncheon afterward at the church and really enjoyed the whole weekend we had to spend with family. 

Miles was able to be blessed in the same outfit Nick was blessed in. I think it's just about the cutest thing! I also love that it is a thing that both of our kids have-Georgia was blessed in my dress as well.

 Have I mentioned I absolutely LOVE that I can live close to my sisters?? Ever since I graduated high school (and before) I haven't been able to live by any sisters except for my first year of college when Ashley was in Utah. Now I'm by all of them! Yay!

 I was really worried he wouldn't fit into this, but it was just right! Nick laughs at his bonnet. He thinks his head is far too big for it. He may be right.

The whole crew who attended the blessings. We are so grateful to be a part of such loving families. We are also grateful our children have so many people that love them and would do anything for them! Thank you everybody for coming to be a part of Miles' and Blake's special day.

On another note- Miles is officially a giant. He looks to be about 6 months. He fits into 6-12 month clothes. He's 2 1/2 months. I measured and weighed him the other day. He's well over 26 inches and 16 pounds. Georgia hit this mark when she was 6 months. Explains why he looks to be that age I suppose. We are really enjoying our summer (minus the heat) and are excited to hopefully be with family on a couple trips this summer. I have been teaching again for 5 weeks but they no longer have classes for me to teach until August. I hope I can find something in the mean time since Nick's only source of income is one of his two internships he is doing. They take up all his time and are very important for his schooling so I'm off to find a different night job-at least for the summer. Wish me luck!! :)  Did I mention how ridiculous it is that school costs so much? And how it's really dumb that Nick has to register for 6 credits and pay for them all (1200 per credit) in exchange for doing free work? So we get to pay about 7,000 for him to do internships this summer. Tuition is ridiculous. At least Nick is good at what he does and gets a lot of praise from his mentors on the work he does. 

Also- I have started a weight loss program. Weight watchers is awesome. Today marks my 5th week and I have lost 10 pounds! I'm getting excited. I can't tell a change in the way I look, but I feel great. I have been able to go to the gym as well 3+ times a week and ran 2 1/2 miles. That's huge since I have never been a runner. I hope to continue with all my new goals. I'm 6 pounds away from losing all of my "Miles" weight and will have a little less than 20 to get to where I was before Georgia.

Two Months

Miles turned two months old just over a week ago. He went in for his checkup on his two month date and boy is he a giant!!! His jaundice is completely gone-nothing to worry about anymore; he only has eczema so he get's lotion-ed up about twice a day. So the verdict: Weight-15lb. 6oz. (98%) Height- 25 in (99%) and his head is something huge and falls in the 94 percentile. At least he's big all around. The dr. says he's not fat at all, he just looks like he's about 5 months old. Awesome. I love him so much though. He is SUCH a good baby and I adore him as do Georgia and Nick. He has been smiling for a few weeks now and tries to laugh when tickled. He sleeps between 8 and 9 hours at night and then wakes up once to eat. If only I could get on the same schedule as him and go to bed at 8 or 9 then I would be set as well. He does well taking a bottle from Nick when I'm working at night. He's growing way too fast as is Georgia. The hardest thing to me about going from one to two kids, is that I don't feel like I get adequate time with either. I want to hold and play with both all day. There is definitely not enough time in the day. 

And just so there is a comparison: Georgia at two months- 12lbs. 3 oz. and 20 1/2 in. long. So yes, since they are so close in age, he'll probably catch up to her by the time he's one and they'll look like twins in size or something.

He wakes up happy every morning. Well, after he's fed, that is. I'm one lucky girl.
